AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library will offer a voter registration day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday,
Oct. 17. Those registering to vote must bring a

Pumpkin lighting
LEWISTON — Farwell Elementary School PTA will have its first annual pumpkin lighting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday,
Oct. 17, at Farwell Elementary School, Farwell Street.
The free family event is open to the public. The carved and lit jack-o-lanterns will be on the school grounds
as a prelude to the 40th annual Pumpkin Festival the following day.
Many volunteers from the Farwell School PTA are helping to get ready
for the event. The event will be cancelled in the event of rain. To display a carved pumpkin, contact [email protected].
Fall festival
LEWISTON — Montello School will hold a Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the school, 407 East Ave.
Attendees can dunk the mystery celebrities in the
infamous dunk tank or bounce around in the bouncy house. There will be
popcorn, nachos, pizza and home baked goodies. There will be face
painting and a raffle basket. Participants may also get a souvenir
Montello T-shirt featuring the famous Monty Eagle.

Spook walk
POLAND — The Poland Fire Rescue
Benevolent Association will have a spook walk from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Range Pond Campground. Plains Road. Cost of the event is $4 each person and proceeds will benefit the association. All are welcome.
Art auction
LEWISTON — The Bolivian art gallery and auction will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul Reception Hall.
During the first hour, attendees may view more than 50 framed pieces of
art drawn by the children from Fr. Lacasse’s parish in Bolivia. The auction will follow. Light refreshments will be served. Derrick Thibeault will perform classical guitar throughout the
gallery showing.
Admission is free and all proceeds are sent to Fr. Lacasse’s mission in Cochabamba, Bolivia, to
help with the soup kitchen and the artists’ families. For more information, call Jason Hall at 777-7005.
Book sale
GRAY — The Gray Public Library Association will hold its annual fall
used book sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, in the library
basement. There will be a presale with a $5 admittance fee from 5:30 to
7:30 p.m. Friday Oct. 16. Saturday will also feature a bake sale to
benefit the Caring Community.
The library basement is overflowing with hardcovers, paperbacks,
audio books, CDs and movies, all sorted and shelved. The public is
invited to come browse the library’s collection of donated books and
movies and stock up for the winter. Most hardcover books are priced at
a dollar and paperbacks are 50 cents. All proceeds from the sale
support the programs and activities of the Gray Public Library.
