LEWISTON — The South Lewiston Baptist Church will hold a missionary conference kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at the Green Ladle, East Avenue. An introduction of missionary guests is planned. The theme for the conference is “The Value of a Soul.”

As part of the church’s 48th annual missionary conference, guests from a variety of cultures will share their experiences and vision for missions from their part of the world. The conference will continue at the church through Sunday evening.

Speakers will include Don and Hong Hai Kirby, IT (International Teams) Philadelphia: Wayne and Becky Smith of New Tribes Mission. Also participating in the conference will be Jeff and Susan Becker of Jeremiah 29:11 Ministries who will be leading a children’s conference throughout the weekend.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, a men’s breakfast and fellowship is planned for 7:30 a.m. at the Green Ladle. Women will meet at 10:30 a.m. for a brunch and devotional at the Green Ladle. A potluck supper is planned for 5 p.m. Saturday, at the church, followed by workshops that involve each missionary presenting highlights of their mission field.

The missionary guests will speak at both morning and evening services on Sunday. The Sunday service will begin at 10:30 a.m. A service for a missionary question and answer time will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by refreshments.
