PARIS — A forum scheduled for next week will feature several representatives from proposed wind farm projects in the Oxford Hills.
The Wind Energy Educational Forum will take place from 7 to 9 a.m. at Four Seasons Function Center on Route 26. Town Manager David Holt of Norway will moderate the forum, which is sponsored by the Western Maine Economic Development Council. The event is free and includes a continental breakfast.
Dylan Voorhees, clean energy and global warming project director at the Natural Resources Council of Maine, will speak in favor of wind energy. Jim Wilkins, director of advancement for Community Concepts, said an opponent of wind farms scheduled to speak had to cancel Tuesday, but a replacement speaker will be selected by next week.
Andy Novey, project director with Patriot Renewables of Quincy, Mass., will speak about a proposed six-to-12 turbine project for Spruce Mountain in Woodstock. Kirk Nadeau, president of Kean Project Engineering in Turner, will discuss his proposal to place three turbines on Streaked Mountain in Buckfield.
Also scheduled to speak is Peter Guldberg, president of Tech Environmental Inc. in Waltham, Mass. Guldberg will talk about sound permitting requirements for wind energy projects.
