FREEPORT — Kenneth Ronald MacDonald, 70, of Freeport died peacefully in his sleep at home on Oct. 14.
He was born in Boston, Mass., May 30, 1939, the son of George C. and Mary A. Simens MacDonald. He enjoyed hunting and fishing – Kenny won his first Moose permit in the lottery this year and tagged his first Moose Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10:20 a.m., 975 lbs., 52″ spread. After waiting 20 years for his permit, his last two days spent hunting with his sons were two of the happiest of his life.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Mary, whom he married on June 10, 1960, and enjoyed 49 years of marriage; sons, Leonard, Martin, James, Alexander and George; daughters, Edith, Ellen and Susan; grandsons, Ian, Kori, Michael, James, Logan and Rilley; granddaughters, Brandi, Erin, Justine, Hollie, Amanda, Sara, Gabrielle, Vanessa, Renee, Katelyn and Delia; great-grandsons, Braxton, Daillen and Carter; and great-granddaughters, Makayla, Baria and Addyson.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a sister, Shirley J. Keefe.
