Fast thinking enabled a Lewiston man to evade an apparent flim-flam operation Sunday.
Ray Geiger told police that a man called him Sunday afternoon, claiming to be an Auburn police officer, and asked Geiger to give him all his credit card numbers.
When Geiger said, however, that he’d meet the “police officer” at the police station, the man hung up.
Police said they had not heard of any similar occurrences in the area.
