Bruce C. Johnson
1947 – 2009

AUBURN — Bruce C. Johnson, 61, of Zoar St., Auburn, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, with his loving family at his side, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 21, 1947, a son of the late Kenneth and Zetta (Coston) Johnson. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School. He was a long time employee of Geiger.

Bruce married the love of his life, the former Karen Spiller, on Sept. 17, 1983. Together they raised their three children.

He leaves his wife of 26 years, Karen, of Auburn; a son, Richard Johnson and his wife, Nancy, of Hopewell, Va.; two daughters, Tammy Johnson of Greene, and Monique Martin and her husband, Shon, of Bellingham, Mass.; three grandchildren that he adored, Devin Walter of Auburn, and Hunter and Kylee Martin of Bellingham Mass.; his mother-in-law, Natalie Spiller; sisters-in-law, Sandy Spiller, Robin St. Jean and her husband, Steve, Lisa Carroll and her husband, Dan, all of Auburn, and Pat Carlton; brothers-in-law, Ken Damon of Poland, and John Carver of Turner; many nieces and nephews; his special family in South Carolina; nephew, Ken Damon Jr., his wife, Carla, their children and grandchildren; a sister, Pat Castner of Auburn.

He was predeceased by siblings Nancy O’Connor, Gloria Damon, Don Corey and Glen Carlton, and his father-in-law Edward Spiller.
