Henry T. Robertson
1922 – 2009
NORWAY — Henry T. Robertson, 87, of Bethel, died in Norway on Oct. 15.
He was born in Bethel on June 22, 1922, the son of the late Herman F. and Sarah (Kelly) Robertson and was educated in Bethel schools and attended Gould Academy.
He served in the U.S. Army Infantry from 1941 to 1945, serving in the Pacific Theatre, receiving a Bronze Star and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Henry had worked as a hydraulic specialist at Oxford Paper Co. in Rumford for 28 years.
He was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, member and past master of Bethel Lodge A.F&A.M., past commander of American Legion Post 81, life member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, member of the Bethel Historical Society and the Kora Temple Shrine.
Henry was very proud of his family and his home, and was very particular in the way his yard was kept.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth (Chase) Robertson, of Bethel, whom he married on Nov. 8, 1946; three daughters, Victoria Robertson of Brunswick, Jean Ramsay and her husband, Glen, of Scarborough, and Merry Ann Harkins and her husband, Jack, of Brunswick; one brother, H. Fenton Robertson and his wife, Ethel, of Richmond, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Keoskie and her husband, Charles, of Englewood, Fla., and Helen Cummings of Bethel; one granddaughter, Erika Lamarre and her husband, Richard Kazimer, of Woburn, Mass.; one grandson, Specialist 1st class Douglas Lamarre and his wife, Deborah, stationed at Fayetteville, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; a half sister, Margaret Barles, and a half brother, Karl Robertson, both of Connecticut.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Winfield Robertson and William Robertson
