Stephen A. McInnis
1953 – 2009
AUBURN — Stephen Anthony McInnis, 56, of Bethel, died due to lung cancer on Friday, Oct. 16, at Hospice House in Auburn with several members of his family by his side.
He was born in Bryant Pond on March 27, 1953, the son of Sally Ann McInnis and Walter “Butsey” Gallant, and lived most of his life with his grandmother, Lucille Robbins, in Bryant Pond. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Telstar High School in 1971. Stephen taught English in Portugal for five years for the Bible Speaks Ministry and attended the University of Maine at Farmington, majoring in English.
He was loved and will be missed by family and his many friends.
He is survived by several half brothers and sisters, Leah Gallant, Daniel Phelps, Tina Williams, Paula Phelps, James Lizotte and Ronald Lizotte; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his best friend and grandmother, Lucille Robbins; his parents; half brother, Brent Lizotte; and a cousin, Zachary Newell.
The family wishes to thank Hospice House in Auburn, Doctor Austin and the nurses for the excellent care they gave Stephen during his last days.
