Widows
RUMFORD — Widows or Widowers Sharing (WOWS) will meet at noon Friday, Oct. 23, for a potluck at the Rumford Senior Citizens, 50 Congress St. Entertainment will be provided by the Senior Players from Bethel.
All area widows or widowers are welcome to join. Dues for the year are $10.

Chicken supper
RUMFORD — The Rumford United Methodist Church on Linnell Street will serve a chicken pie supper at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. The menu will include mashed potatoes, vegetable, cranberry sauce, rolls, beverages and gingerbread with whipped cream. The cost is $7 each person.
Benefit
RUMFORD — A benefit for Mark (Goldie) Tozier of Dixfield will be held on Friday, Oct. 23, at the Eagle’s Hall. Tozier recently had open heart surgery and will be out of work for 12 weeks.
There will be a spaghetti supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The cost for adults is $7; children, $4. A dance, with music by Monsta, will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Cost is $7 each person. There will be a Chinese auction, raffle and refreshments.
