George N. Pelletier
1930 – 2009
LEWISTON — George N. Pelletier, 79, of Spring Street, Lewiston, died Sunday, Oct. 18, at his home.
He was born in Wallagrass, June 20, 1930, the son of Victor and Agnes Doustou Pelletier. He attended school in Lewiston and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Marines Corps.
He operated two gas stations in Lewiston before owning Norm’s Garage in Lisbon, M & P Salvage in Minot and Friendly Auto Sales in Mechanic Falls. He was a 43-year member of American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls. He enjoyed his camp lot, boating and in earlier years Oxford Plains Speedway.
Survivors include his life partner, Patricia Field of Lewiston; a daughter, Kathleen McManus of Lewiston and her fiance, Michael Kuroly; two granddaughters, Breanna and Alicia McManus of Portland; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, Ludger, Patrick, Emile and Louis; and sisters, Gertrude, Nora, Freda, Exzelia, Corrina, Jeannette and Anita.
