Irene Fletcher
1934 – 2009
LEWISTON — Irene Fletcher of Wilton, died Oct. 18, due to complication from surgery.
She was born Jan. 16, 1934, in New Vineyard, the daughter of Ed and Lillian (Hutchinson) Nile. She worked as a shoemaker in North Jay’s Norwalk Shoe and then G.H. Bass for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Doug Fletcher; a daughter, Shirley York and her husband, Ron Jr., of North Jay; a son, Rodney Barker and his wife, Pam, of Wilton; grandchildren, Wesley, Ronald, Jason, Jessica, Megan, Chris, Bobbi Jo, Douglas, Timmy, Shaelee, Dylan, Jessica, Matt, Dan, Sean, Kevin and Sara; stepchildren, David, Wendy, Mike, Alan and Jane, as well as many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley Jackson; sons, Fredrick Jackson and Wesley (Jack) Jackson; daughters, Gaylene Jackson Cochran and Sandra Barker; and granddaughter, Ann Marie Jackson.
