“Each time I drive by these pink tulips in the Spring, I feel a sense of solidarity for all of us who have gone through this,” said cancer survivor Jolene Hall, left, before planting pink tulip bulbs in front of Oxford Networks on Lisbon Street in Lewiston, where she is employed. Also planting bulbs as part of the kickoff celebration of the Pink Tulip planting week was the Maine Cancer Foundation’s Executive Director Susan Rowan, right. The flower bed will be tended by Premier Groundscapes. Oxford Networks has underwritten the purchase of tulip bulbs since 2007 for the planting of public gardens in Bangor and Portland. This year the company is planting tulip beds at each of its three locations in Lewiston, Bangor, and Norway. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
