Book sale

WEST PARIS — The Friends of the West Paris Library will sponsor their annual fall Buck-a-Bag sale from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Historical Society, across the street from the library. Those attending can pay $1 for a bag and fill it with as many books as possible. There will be children’s, adult, young adult, fiction and nonfiction titles. There will also be DVDs, audio books and more. Hot and cold drinks and muffins will also be for sale.

For more information about the event, call the library at 674-3181. Library hours are from 1:30 to 6 p.m. Monday and Friday,  from from 1:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Craft fair

HARTFORD — The Hartford Community Church Women’s Group
will sponsor the annual holiday craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Hartford Town Hall, Route 140. There will be 17 tables of crafters and coffee, tea, cocoa, sandwiches, homemade cookies and fudge will be available.

Ticket auction

NORWAY — The Women’s Fellowship of the Second Congregational Church in Norway will have their annual ticket auction
on Friday, Oct. 23. The doors will open at 4 p.m. and the auction
will begin at 6 p.m. There will be hundreds of baskets and items available to choose from. Dinner will also be available for a cost. For more information,

Swingin’ Bears

SOUTH PARIS — The Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club
will have their Fall Fling Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the
Oxford Hills Middle School. The dance will feature Lee Kennedy calling mainstream and plus
for the square dancing and Carol Stewart cuing the round dancing.  Refreshments will
be offered at intermission. Admission is $6 each person. Nondancers
are invited to watch at no charge.

Fall shoot

OXFORD — A fall shoot will be held from 10 a.m. to 2
p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at the Lake Thompson Fish and Game
clubhouse, Point Road. Running deer and trap will be offered. For more information, call Ed Snow at
