AUBURN — The East Wind Gospel Quartet will hold its 17th annual gospel concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at the East Auburn Baptist Church, 560 Park Ave.

The East Wind Gospel Quartet is celebrating 22 years of gospel music. The quarter is a Maine-based southern gospel group. They have performed in concerts throughout New England and Canada and have also performed in churches, nursing homes, prisons, jails, campgrounds and for senior citizen groups.

They have won several awards for their ministry in gospel music. In 1994 and 2000, they won first place in the Down East Country Music Association gospel category. In 2001, they won first place in the gospel category, and in 2002, they won the Most Promising Vocal Group of the year in traditional gospel category, both at the North American Country Music Association International in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

The East Wind Gospel Quartet has produced many recording projects in their 22 years of ministry of gospel music.

Performing with the East Wind Gospel Quartet will be the Pat Denny Family from Poland, a country/bluegrass gospel group, and The LaClaires, who have  traveled and performed throughout New England and Oklahoma. They are known for their bluegrass music and have produced many recording projects and performed at churches, festivals and fairs.
