“For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together.”

LEWISTON — Roland M. Roy and Diane J. Biron of Music by MAGIC are once again joining forces with chefs Dan Caron and Katie Liguori of the Lewiston Regional Technical Center’s culinary arts program to put together “A Special Saturday in Autumn.”

The evening of comfort foods and musical entertainment will take place at the Green Ladle Restaurant beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.

As guests enter the restaurant, they will be directed to their tables and a “chef’s surprise” of appetizers /hors d’oeuvres. Culinary arts students will later bring to each table a pumpkin filled with pumpkin soup as Music by MAGIC serenades diners.

The entrée will be a warm and flavorful assortment of comfort foods served buffet-style. The menu will include roast ham; roasted chicken with pecan stuffing and veloute sauce; baked haddock with a panko and honey topping; roasted bliss potatoes; a salad of mixed greens with apples and toasted walnuts with balsamic vinaigrette; cranberry sauce; and assorted breads served with pumpkin butter or honey butter.

Following the meal, Music by MAGIC will perform along with special guest vocalists Rita Gagnon and Shelley Harris. Audience will be asked to join in song to celebrate the season and the camaraderie.

Toward the end of this musical interlude, pastry chef Katie Liguori’s students will serve apple crisp and ice cream, and hot coffee or tea.

Cost is $25 per person, by reservation only. Seating is limited. For more information, or to make a reservation, call 782-5457 or 946-7084.
