WEST PARIS — “Why Marriage Equality” will be the subject of the services to be offered at the First Universalist Church of West Paris and the First Universalist Church of Norway on Sunday, Oct. 25. The minister of the churches, the Rev. Richard Beal is a member of The Religious Coalition for the Freedom to Marry in Maine and invites members of the public in support of marriage equality to participate in the services.
The First Universalist Church of West Paris, Main Street, West Paris, meets for Sunday morning worship at 9 a.m., and the First Universalist Church of Norway, 479 Main Street, Norway, meets at 11 a.m.

Indoor walking
BRIDGTON — The Step Into Fitness indoor walking program sponsored by the Bridgton Community Center and supported by Lake Region High School will begin on Monday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 6 p.m. and will continue Mondays and Fridays, through the second week in May.
The program gives people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to continue their walking programs throughout the inclement weather months in a warm and safe environment. Participants should park in front of Lake Region High School and use the front entrance.
Bridge play
NORWAY — The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met on Oct. 16 in the Fare Share Building on Main Street. A four table Howell movement was played.
Finishing first in flight A were Richard Balian and Pete Cummings with Suzanne Andrews and Carol Curran second. Third were Mike Quinn and Fred Letourneau.
Finishing first in flight B were Richard Worthington and Jim Fallon with Bev Pelletier and Denny Raymond second. Third were Linda Smith and Jack Neal.

Flea market
WEST PARIS — The West Paris Grange 298 will hold a flea market, bake sale and luncheon on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the West Paris Grange Hall, Church Street. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m.
Harvest supper
HEBRON — Hebron Station School will have a benefit harvest supper from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at the school, 884 Station Road. The menu will include appetizers, spaghetti with sauce, salad, bread and pies. Healthy Oxford Hills is helping the school to purchase local produce for the supper. Students, staff and parents will volunteer.
The supper is a fundraiser for the school scholarship fund which goes to a graduating senior from OHCHS who is a resident of Hebron and has attended the elementary school. All proceeds from the supper will go towards the fund.
Senior social
BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Community Center will host a Halloween senior social potluck from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. The disc jockey, Mike Mahoney, will be play tunes of the 1940s and 1950s. Those attending may wear a favorite costume or hat. There will be prizes. For more information, call 647-3116.
