Benefit breakfast

OXFORD — The American Legion Riders will hold a breakfast from 6 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Oxford American legion. The breakfast will benefit Christine McBean. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, bacon, biscuits, sausage gravy, eggs, home fries, coffee and juice. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for kids 10 and under.

Craft fair

WEST PARIS — There will be a craft fair and more from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 24, at the First Universalist Church, Main Street. The day will include a food sale, crafts and white elephant tables. Donations for a quilt raffle will be available with the proceeds being split with the church and the West Paris Library for their building project.

From 8:30 to 9 a.m., Nancy Willard will meet with men and women for lessons in Tai Chi and other stretches and for lessons in strength exercises. Participants should bring two cans of soup or other food (approximately 16 ounces) to be used as weights in the strength training. The canned goods may be left at the church to be given to an area food pantry. Call 665-2788 with any questions.

Caregiver program

NORWAY — The MaineHealth Learning Resource Center at Stephens Memorial Hospital will offer a “Caring for the Caregiver” program from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

Pat O’Brien, RN, BSN, CHPN, from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice will hold an interactive class discussing ways to care for oneself. Participants will learn relaxation techniques such as breathing exercises and meditation and sample some relaxing essential oils.

Public witness

WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of Norway
will sponsor a public witness from 4 to 6
p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in Market Square, South Paris.
All those opposed to Question One on the referendum ballot in the coming election
are urged to participate.

Participants are requested to bring signs,
posters, flags or banners and wear equality buttons, hats or
T-shirts. A prep party to create signs and banners will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the church, 479 Main St.

Church service

SOUTH PARIS — “It Is Good Enough” will be the sermon topic at the First
Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., on Sunday, Oct. 25.
The 10 a.m. service will be lead by Shirley S. Miller. The music will
be under the direction of Forest Perkins and the Sunday School will be
lead by Renee Wales. The coffee hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall.
Child care is provided. All are welcome.

Worship service

SOUTH PARIS — All are welcome to Trinity Lutheran
Church, 34 Buckfield Rd. on Sunday, Oct. 25, Reformation
Sunday. Youth choir and Making the Old Story Our Story will be at 9 a.m. followed
by worship service at 10:15 a.m. Following the worship, there will be coffee, refreshments
and fellowship.
