Cecile B. Mailhot
1919 – 2009
LEWISTON — Cecile B. Mailhot, 89, went home to her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, Oct. 22, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.
She was born in Auburn, Dec. 7, 1919, the daughter of the late Henry and Alice Casavant Mercier. She was educated in Auburn schools and worked many years at Dori Shoe retiring in 1984. She married Lionel O. Mailhot Sept. 5, 1938, and was married for more than 50 years. He predeceased her Jan. 18, 1992.
She was a devout Catholic who loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and everyone loved her divinity fudge.
She is survived by a daughter, Claudette Shuler and husband, Lawrence, of Saco; a son, Leo Mailhot of Minot; three grandchildren, Sean Mailhot, Stephanie Shuler and Jennifer Shuler Cote and husband, Ron; two great-grandchildren, Alison and Cameron Cote.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Henry, Roland and Armand Mercier; and two sisters, Yvette Mercier Lehrman and Jeannette Mercier Krapovicky.
