Denis J. Caron
1910 – 2009

ROMULUS, Mich. — Beloved and respected by many, Denis J. Caron, 98, died in Romulus, Mich., on­ Friday, Oct. 16. 

He was born in Kingman, Nov. 21, 1910, and raised in Macawhoc, he lived most of his adult life in Lewiston, where he married Anna L. Breton. He served his country during World War II in the Army in India. He was a member of the Holy Cross Church for more than 60 years. He became a member of the Knights of Columbus and served in that organization for many years. He started his own business, Caron’s Body Shop. 

His love and passion were his family and the out of door experiences, especially those at Moosehead Lake in Rockwood, where memorable summers were made special by the gathering of family.

He is survived by his brother, Maurice; his five sisters, Annie, Cora, Alvina, Agnes and Mary; his daughters, Denise Hauter and husband, Todd, Claudette Caron and husband, Bert Curtis; his sons, Gerald and wife, Alice and Raymond Caron; three grandsons, Todd, Dean and Denis; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Anna, Kenneth and Zachary.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Anna L. Breton Caron.
