AUBURN — William (Bill) Whitney Rawson Jr., 76, of Auburn, died Oct. 19.

Bill was born July 20, 1933, the first son of William Whitney Rawson Sr. and Elizabeth White Rawson of Auburn. He graduated from Edward Little High School and became a printer. He worked in the trade for many companies in the Lewiston and Auburn area as well as in Gardiner — where he resided for many years.

 He was an avid darts player and was active in the Central Maine Dart League. He loved dancing. He also enjoyed trap shooting, kayaking, canoeing and was an avid outdoorsman — fishing and hunting with his faithful dog Elwood were his relaxation and pleasure. Bill loved working with his hands, could fix almost anything, and remodeled many a house.

He was pre-deceased by his parents; his wife, Marcia Anne; and two brothers, Normand F. Rawson and George E. Rawson.

He is survived by two sons, William Whitney Rawson III of Florida, and Brian D. Rawson of Monmouth; a daughter, Michelle Morgan, of Augusta; two brothers, Robert H. Rawson of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Paul R. Rawson Sr. of Windham; many nieces and nephews; and one granddaughter.
