I believe Question 1 is about morality, not equality. Men and women in the state of Maine already have equality. Both men and women have the right to get married; men have the right to one woman and women have the right to one man. Morality comes into play when it is any different than that.
Yes, I am a Christian, and have been for about 10 years now. I do believe the Bible is God’s word. Leviticus 18:22 states that a man should not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. But even if some people don’t believe in God, they should realize that it’s wrong because the plumbing is off.
I am an avid hunter and have been most of my adult life, and never once have I seen two male or two female deer, or two of the same sex of any other animal for that matter, trying to have sex.
Immorality is running rampant everywhere I look nowadays. Children need to be taught the difference between right and wrong, and that one day they will be held accountable for their actions.
Don’t get me wrong. It doesn’t mean people should hate homosexuals, just the sin.
I hope the good people of Maine will join me in voting “yes” on Question 1 to bring back some morals to this great state, where people can be proud to raise their children.
