Lorraine N. Marcoux

1924 – 2009

LEWISTON – Lorraine N. Marcoux, 85, a resident of Schooner Estates and formerly of Heathwood Lane, Lewiston, passed away Saturday afternoon, Oct. 24, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 21, 1924, an only child of Arthur and Alice (Vaillancourt) Labrie. She was educated in local schools, graduated from Lewiston High School and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On July 29, 1944, she married Roger J. Marcoux, who predeceased her on March 27, 1995.

She worked many years at Pioneer Plastics until her retirement.

Mrs. Marcoux was a member of Holy Cross Church.

Among Lorraine’s favorite enjoyments were bowling, golfing, reading, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed special times with her two sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, as well as with a special friend and companion, Larry Mansir. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She leaves two sons, Roger Marcoux and wife, Donna, of Windsor, Vt., and Thomas Marcoux and wife, Rose, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; four grandchildren, Darren Marcoux, Alison Marcoux, Aimee Herschel and Chad Marcoux; a great-granddaughter, Dakota Herschel; and several cousins.
