This is in response to letters claiming that same-sex marriage is simply about love.

“But I love him, I don’t care if he’s already married — love is all that matters.”

“But I love my husband too much to burden him with another child. I’ll abort — love is all that matters.”

“But I love my partner too much to worry about church teachings — love is all that matters.”

“But I love my partner too much to care about the societal structure of the last two thousand years — love is all that matters.”

John 14:23, “Anyone who loves me will be true to my word, and my Father will love him.”

Jesus instituted the sacrament of marriage between a man and a woman. How long can people go against his teachings in the name of love?

How much longer are people willing to justify this behavior in the name of love?

Who are we to change God’s word and plan for mankind?
