Larry Gilbert is a Vietnam Veteran. He served as a police officer for 25 years, working his way up through the ranks before retiring as chief of police. After his retirement, he was nominated by former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell for appointment by President Clinton as the U.S. Marshal for the district of Maine.

He has been an advocate for citizens in Lewiston, and has held several public forums to meet with them. He takes the time to listen to concerns and acts on them. He provides support to the young people of the city, to further build on economic success.

People need to have a reason for voting for someone. A candidate must serve the city who has the background and knowledge to handle the position. Larry Gilbert has that background and knowledge. I urge Lewiston residents to join me in voting for him as Lewiston’s mayor.

Alphée Grenier, Lewiston
