AUBURN — A gas leak at Mount Auburn Avenue that forced the evacuation of the Auburn Mall on Tuesday morning was capped later in the day.

The leak, reported just before 10 a.m., forced the evacuation of the mall and the closure of a portion of Turner Street as crews worked to shut off two valves, one on Turner Street and the other at Mount Auburn Avenue. The leak was capped at about 11:30 a.m.
