WOODSTOCK — Woodstock Historical Society Curator Larry Billings received a letter from President Obama on the day he won the Nobel Peace Prize.

To date, Billings has received letters from the past five U.S. Presidents. Ronald Reagan wrote the most and George W. Bush sent almost as many. The letters are on exhibit at the New England Cultural Center, 70 South Main St., Bryant Pond. Also on exhibit are letters from several First Ladies.

The October meeting of the society featured a DVD from Hattie Kneeland, missionary to Peru. She helps translate the Bible and has worked in Peru since 1969.

The program for the November meeting will be on Disney World and will mark the society’s 30th birthday.
