It always amazes me what the editors of the Sun Journal considers news, especially front-page news.
On Oct. 9, television news shows announced that President Barack Obama had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. On Oct. 10, I searched through the whole Sun Journal for an acknowledgement of that news item, and finally found one line mentioning it in another news item about Obama.
The front page was splattered with two articles about the same-sex marriage issue, which is a local issue, and another article about the arrival of the blue ox in Rumford, which I assume some editor thought was a great event. (Has anyone there seen it?)
Regardless of whether or not Sun Journal editors agree with his politics, or whether they think he deserved the award, he is still the president. Apparently the Nobel Prize Committee thought he deserved it.
If Rush Limbaugh or Michael Jackson had won it, or if Obama had stubbed his toe getting off Air Force One, it would have undoubtedly made the front page.
Go figure.
