Dorothy Luce Fronk
1921 – 2009
FARMINGTON — Dorothy Luce Fronk, 88, of Farmington, passed away Monday, Nov. 2, at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, where she had resided for two months. She proudly was able to maintain living at her home until just recently, with the help of her family and her devoted caregivers, Holly LaPointe and Lynn Rainville.
She was born Aug. 12, 1921, in Industry, a daughter of Warren B. and Frances M. (Croxford) Luce. She was a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1941 and on Aug. 31, 1941, married Richard E. Fronk in Farmington Falls. He predeceased her on Dec. 15, 2003.
She was a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and home and did housekeeping for Mrs. Eleanor Cutler and Mrs. Hazel T. Newman. She kept an immaculate home and enjoyed gardening, playing cards, particularly “63”, knitting and sewing. She enjoyed camping trips with her family to Lamoine State Park and was glad to have the company of her beloved house cat, Tabby.
She is survived by her son, David Fronk and his wife, Diana, of West Farmington; her daughter, Beverley Avery and her husband, William, of Bath; seven grandchildren, Angela Avery, Derek Avery, Jason Avery, Amanda Young, Kimberly Fronk, Deanna Parlin and Darcy Gray; 14 great-grandbabies; nieces, Gail W. Smith, Elaine W. Burton, Rachael Fronk and Alice McAfferty; and nephew, Keith Fronk.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Alys Watson; and a grandson, Kevin W. Avery.
