Gilberte C. Pratt Aube
1922 – 2009
AUBURN — Gilberte C. Pratt Aube, 87, of 396 Montello St., Lewiston, died Saturday, Oct. 31, with her loving niece by her side at the Clover Manor, where she had been a resident for the past two years.
She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 14, 1922, the daughter of Horace and Rose Vermette Despres. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1940. She was employed for more than 36 years as an operator for the Bell Telephone Co., retiring in 1978.
On Sept. 16, 1972, she married Roger E. Pratt, who passed away on Oct. 11, 1998. On Dec. 6, 2002, she married her second husband, Robert A. Aube, who passed away on March 9, 2007.
A member of Holy Family Parish, she was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Patronesses of St. Mary’s.
Survivors include a sister, Irene D. Marcotte of Auburn; a stepdaughter, Claire Aube of Lewiston; a niece, Rosemarie and husband, Thomas Goodwin, of Lewiston; three nephews, Paul V. Levesque of Lewiston, Peter V. Levesque and wife, Jeannine, of Conway, N.H., and Michel V. Levesque and wife, Betty, of St. Agathe; two nieces by marriage, Patricia Levesque of Eliot and Ida Levesque of Sabattus; three great-nieces; six great-nephews; two great-great-nieces; and six great-great-nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Side 3 at Clover Manor for the loving care and friendship they gave “Ma Tante” Gil during her final two years.
