The Sun has received a handsome bunch of mayflowers picked by Charles C. Lane on Meadow View Farm, Auburn, Sunday, Oct. 31. The flowers are of perfect formation and as fresh and fragrant as though they were of spring variety.
50 years ago, 1959
Roland L. Marcotte, Lewiston, has purchased the Allard Chevrolet Co. in Auburn and the business will be operated as the Marcotte Chevrolet Inc. Papers to complete the deal were signed yesterday whereby Marcotte took over the business from William J. Allard of Auburn and then received his new franchise from the Chevrolet Motor Co.
Marcotte plans renovations to the property and will install a new type used car lot for better display of vehicles.
25 years ago, 1984
Normand Renaud and Louisa-Beth Garant have been cast in the lead roles of Professor Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle in the musical “My Fair Lady,” which is being presented by the St. Dominic’s Family Theater and St. Dominic’s High School Drama Club.
This marks the first time that the two theater groups have shared a production together.
The remainder of the show cast is: Roland Durocher, as Col. Pickering; Bob Mathieu, Alfred Doolittle; Dave Ladderbush, Freddy Eynsford Hill; Fernande Cyr, Mrs. Pearce, and Carol Ledoux, Mrs. Higgins.
