NORWAY — Birdie Googins aka “The Marden’s Lady” will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at the Second Congregational Church, U.C.C., 205 Main St.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Last year, her sold out, one-woman show included tales of her life as the daughter of the church minister.
Martha Lello, aka Karmo Sanders, Birdie Googins and “The Marden’s Lady,” is no stranger to Norway. She was raised in the parsonage of the Second Congregational Church, U.C.C. and graduated from Oxford Hills High School.
For most of her life, she has been working in the theater as an actress, writer and comedian, earning a masters degree from Boston University as a playwright.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Googins and get her autograph at a reception following the show. Light refreshments will be served.
Tickets are on sale in the church office and at Books-N-Things, Main Street. Some tickets may also be available at the door. Tickets are $10. The church sanctuary has open seating and is limited to 200. The church youth group will provide childcare during the show, for 30 minutes prior to the show and for 15 minutes after the show.
