Quilting
WALES — A quilting class will be offered at Oak Hill Adult Education instructed by Mary Fields. Also, a computer class will be offered. Dates will be announced for both classes. At least six students are needed to have the class.
The Adult Education is also seeking people with specific talents to instruct classes. Anyone interested in teaching a class or who would like to register for a class, call Flo at 375-6605.
Food drive
LEWISTON — Tiny Miss Maine Alexis and Toddler Miss Maine Emma will hold a food drive to benefit Hope Haven Gospel Ministries for Thanksgiving meals. Donations may be dropped of at the University of Southern Maine Lewiston-Auburn College Office of Community Service and at the Fellowship Church in Greene on Sunday mornings. Renew obligation
WALES — Lakeside Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Masonic Temple, 322 Centre Road. The group will renew their Obligation and hear the
reading of the Landmarks of the Order of the Eastern Star.
The Grand Chapter Charity informational brochure will also be read.
All members and visiting members are welcome. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Sodality
LEWISTON — The Prince of Peace Rosary Sodality will meet Tuesday, Nov.
10, at Holy Cross Seniors Hall, 16 St. Croix St. Recitation of the Rosary and a memorial for deceased members will be at 6:30 p.m. followed
by a business meeting. Refreshments will be provided by Joyce Ouellette
and her committee.
Grange meeting
POLAND — Members of Excelsior Grange 5 will meet at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, for a harvest supper followed by a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Plans for the Christmas Fair, to be held on Saturday, Nov. 28, will be
discussed.
Person to person
POLAND — A Person to Person program will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Ricker Library. Local author Robert Chapman will speak. He is the author of two
recent novels, “A Certain Fall” and “Spider Lake.” As a former child
welfare social worker, he is noted for his sensitive treatment of child
abuse issues.
The program is a monthly potluck
supper and discussion sponsored by Friends of Ricker Library.
All are welcome, including children. Those attending should bring a casserole, salad or
dessert. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., followed by the program from 7 to 8 p.m.
Post meeting
AUBURN — The Alden M. Gayton Post 31, 426 Washington St., will meet on Monday, Nov. 9. The Post and Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. A free meal for members only will precede the meeting at 6 p.m.
