RUMFORD — “Fall Into a Good Book!” was the theme of this year’s author visit at Rumford Elementary School.
Cathryn Falwell, children’s book author and illustrator of more than 20 books, visited the school on Oct. 7 and 8. During the day, she hosted interactive grade level sessions, during which she shared books that she has written and illustrated.
On Oct. 7, parents and students alike were treated to an evening program, during which Falwell talked about her life and then involved students in an activity in which they arranged and rearranged letters to form a number of words.
In addition, a book fair was held, refreshments were served and Falwell talked with the public and autographed books.
This was the fifth author visit in as many years to Rumford Elementary School. It is sponsored in part by The After School Program and the school PTO organization.
