Veterans day 

WILTON — A Veterans Day observance will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Monument Square.
There will be the laying of a wreath, and a recognition of veterans past and present. Speakers will include Col. Michael Backus and Rep. Tom Saviello.

Boy Scout Troop 518 will provide a color guard. The Rev. Doug Dunlap and the Rev. Timothy Walmer will assist in officiating. The observance wll be held rain or shine. The public is invited to attend.

Food drive

DIXFIELD — The Mount Blue Moccasins Pathfinder Club youth are holding a nonperishable food drive and will collect food through Sunday, Nov. 22. Donations may be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at
the Dixfield Seventh-Day Adventist School, 1 Blayne St. Those dropping off the food should go to the
big doors in the parking lot.

Last year, the club was able to help 21 families through the food drive. For more information, call the school at 562-8262.
