AUBURN — The Central Maine Community College Corporate and Community Services Department will offer “Business Writing” from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, Nov. 10 and 17. The cost of the class is $109 and includes materials.
In the class, corporate writing coach Ken O’Quinn will take students through the writing process to help them understand the finer points for good professional business communication. Students will gain the confidence to write with clarity and efficiency.
Topics will include: ways to organize information in e-mail, memos and letters; tips for writing e-mail that people will read; techniques for simplifying complex information; the essential building blocks of a clear, direct sentence; and avoiding common mistakes in grammar and punctuation.
O’Quinn spent more than 21 years in daily journalism, including 12 years with the Associated Press. He has been a guest speaker at the American Press Institute and he has presented at the IABC and PRSA international conferences.
