Edwin J. Waite

PORTLAND — Edwin J. Waite, 86, of 5 Gleason St., Mexico, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Mexico, the son of John and Albina Gallant Waite. Educated in local schools he went on to
become a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. He was employed at Boise Cascade for 47 years
as a crane operator and welder. He also was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include his loving wife, Vi; daughter, Susan Goldberg of Portland; daughter-in-law, Karen Waite of Rumford; sister, Doris Jollota of Vermont; and grandchildren, Dr. Alissa Thomas, Patrick Waite, Elaina Waite, Tyler Goldberg, and Cameron Goldberg.
He was predeceased by sons, Donald Thompson and Gregory Waite; brothers, Howard Waite and Joe Waite; and sisters, Bea Rinaldo and Viola Paltinowick.
