Indie Singer-Songwriter Mike Doughty to Perform Live at Scarborough Bull Moose, November 15
Former Soul Coughing frontman touring in support of new album Sad Man Happy Man
PORTLAND – Brooklyn-based indie singer-songwriter Mike Doughty, former frontman of the band Soul Coughing, will perform a live in-store concert Sunday, at 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Scarborough Bull Moose, 456 Payne Road. On tour in support of his new solo album “Sad Man Happy Man,” released Oct. 6, Doughty will perform songs from his new album and be available to sign copies of his CDs. The Bull Moose acoustic in-store performance is free and open to the public.
Doughty began his solo career after the breakup of Soul Coughing in 2000 and has been featured on “Late Show with David Letterman,” WXPN’s “World Cafe” and NPR’s “All Things Considered.” His fifth solo album, “Sad Man Happy Man,” follows his 2008 studio release of “Golden Delicious.” The Nov.15 Scarborough in-store precedes Doughty’s concert the same night at Portland’s One Longfellow Square.
“We’re so excited to have Mike Doughty in the Scarborough store, and we know his fans will be too,” said Ian Lindley, buyer for Bull Moose. “His last two shows in Maine — including the One Longfellow show the same night as the in-store — have both sold out well in advance of the show… he has an incredible following.”
