OES meeting
MECHANIC FALLS — Dwinal Chapter 28, Order of the Eastern Star, will honor Star Points at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Masonic Hall, Route 11. The Order of the Eastern Star uses the symbol of the five-point star to recount the lessons of five heroines from the Bible.
The Star Point night will include the Grand Star Points, those chosen to represent the five Biblical women for 2009-2010. All members are welcome to attend. A potluck supper will precede the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nonmembers may attend the supper by calling Kathy Williamson at 212-9438.
Grange to meet
AUBURN — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the hall. The program will precede the business meeting. Speakers for the evening will be Laurie Winsor and Karen Flynn from Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.
Christmas fair
SABATTUS — A Christmas Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14, at the Dominican Sisters Convent, 61 Lisbon Road. Every room of the convent basement will be filled with crafts, toys, Christmas items and much more. The event will benefit Loaves and Fishes and the local food pantry. Holiday fair
TURNER — A Holiday Fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Turner Center Universalist Church, Route 117, Turner Center Road. There will be crafts, a white elephant table, a bake sale and lunch.
Cribbage league
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 5 were: first, Linda Dostie Scott and Bob Leclair; second, Jeanne Collette and John Violette; third, Muriel Webber and Roger Patry; fourth, Sandy Verrill and Steve Agurkis; fifth, Anna Faucher and Roger Labbe.

Make baby food
LEWISTON — The Nutrition Center of Maine will offer a class where participants will learn about and make cereal for a 4- to 12-month-old baby.The class will be held from 9 a.m. noon Saturday, Nov. 14. Each parent will be sent home with cereal.
A donation of $5 or $10 is suggested, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Baby-sitting will be available and free of charge.
