NORWAY — The Family Birthplace at Stephens Memorial Hospital will hold a Preparing for Birth Class from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 19, Dec. 3 and 10, in Harper Conference Room, down the stairs in the Ripley Medical Building. Hilary Ware, RN, will facilitate the course.

Expectant parents will learn about labor and delivery, including relaxation techniques that will help during labor. Coaches will learn how to assist through the process and share in the joy of the baby’s birth. Other topics will include making a birthing plan, comfort measures, stages of labor, cesarean delivery and newborn care.

Preregistration with payment or MaineCare information must be submitted prior to class attendance. The class fee is $50 for those delivering at Stephens Memorial Hospital and $60 for those delivering elsewhere.
