Computer tutorial

WATERFORD — A computer tutorial will be offered at the Waterford Library Thursday afternoons beginning Nov. 12 and continuing into December.

Instruction will be individualized and based on the needs and interests of each participant. Topics participants may wish to explore may include browsing the Internet; using a digital camera; downloading, e-mailing and editing photos; safe Internet practices; or word processing. The instructor is Earl Morse, retired science teacher and computer expert.

Attendance is limited and preregistration is required.
Participants must commit to at least two hours of practice each week. If interested, call the library at 583-2050 and leave a message.

Library program

BRYANT POND — Susan Jennings of the Extension Education 4-H Camp and Learning
Center will speak at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Whitman Memorial Library. The program will be a slide show
presentation of the variety of programs offered to get both young and
old thinking about the connection to the environment.

There will be information on programs for the schools and the
community and time for questions. The program is open to the public at
no charge and light refreshments will be served. 

Historical society

WATERFORD — The Waterford Historical
Society will have its final meeting of the year on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the North Waterford
Congregational Church. There will be a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m. followed
by a short business meeting and a program on oral history collection
and historical film at 7:30 p.m. The society has been collecting
oral histories all year. Attendees should bring a dish to the supper, which is free, or may just attend the meeting.

Bridge play

NORWAY — The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Nov. 6 in the Fare Share Building on Main St. A five-table Howell movement was enjoyed. Finishing first in flight A were
Pete Cummings and Dick Allen, with Pat Quinn and Luke Merry second.
Third were Suzanne Andrews and Carol Curran, who also were first in
flight B.

Finishing second in flight B were Jim Fallon and Richard Worthington; third were Cindy Kirchherr and Denny Raymond.

Another game will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13. A partner
is guaranteed and all bridge players are invited. Parking
