Local rockers Civil Disturbance will launch their new album “Annarosa” this Saturday, Nov. 14, during a CD release party at Crazy 8 in South Paris. A second release party will be held Dec. 12 at The Big Easy in Portland.

Since the band’s last album, “The Battle Within” was released in 2007, Civil Disturbance was joined by two members — new bassist Billy F. and new drummer Nick T. Heading into their second album, band members decided they wanted to take their music to the next level in terms of sound. Members worked with Westie World Studios on the recording and production.

“With this new album, we really wanted to step it up and bring a new level of energy to our music,” said lead guitarist Matt T. “We wanted to make this album on a whole different wavelength than what we were used to.”

In stepping up their music, Civil Disturbance also took their song writing to the next level, and spent more time on the writing process for the upcoming CD.

The album’s title track was actually inspired by a friend of the band whose young daughter died. Driven by a heavy sound, the lyrics depict a father dealing with his pain and a friend pulling him from the darkness.

Also new is the band’s marketing, which includes a new logo and custom t-shirts thanks to Mark Michaud of Fat Rage Productions. The band is currently competing in the ROCKME project sponsored by The Bone radio station 106.7 in Portland.
