Shopping trip

DIXFIELD — The Neighborly Senior Citizens will sponsor a shopping trip to Portland on Friday, Nov. 20. Transportation will be provided by Western Maine Transportation and the trip is open to everyone. Cost is $5 for those over 60 and $10 for those under 60. Pick up times will be at 8 a.m. in Mexico and at 8:15 a.m. in Dixfield. For further information or to sign up, call Connie at 364-4189.

Society meeting

DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov.
12, beginning with a business meeting for the election of
officers. Following will be a presentation from local historian and
physical therapist Lauren Hebert, PhD, who will speak about Colonel
Jonathan Holman and the founding of Dixfield. Light refreshments will
be served and the public is cordially invited to attend. This will be the last meeting until spring.

Reception

ANDOVER — A reception will be held for “6 Who Care” recipient Sharon Hutchins
at 7 p.m. Friday,
Nov. 13, at the Andover Elementary School. Hutchins was awarded the honor for her work with the Andover Educational
Fund and for raising funds for free lunches and breakfasts at the
Andover school.
