MEDWAY, Maine (AP) – A former Medway select board member awaiting trial for a fatal truck accident was jailed after witnesses reported he was driving a road grader.

Police say 44-year-old James Lee was charged Friday with violations of conditions of his release.

Millinocket Police Chief Garold “Twig” Cramp says Lee is due in court on Monday.

Lee has a long history of driving violations. He has not been allowed to drive since being charged with manslaughter in connection with a September 2008 accident that killed 28-year-old William Russell of Medway.

The Bangor Daily News says witnesses saw Lee driving the grader

Lee had agreed to plead guilty to the charges in exchange for a four-year sentence, but a judge rejected the deal.
