HEBRON — Hebron Academy earned its fifth straight MAISAD field hockey title with a 2-0 win over Gould Academy Wednesday.
Hebron put the first point on the board just 9 minutes into the game when senior Alessandra Hankinson found the back of the net. A reverse stick shot from Camree Thompson, assisted by Lauren Ratsep, at the 12-minute mark gave Hebron a 2-0 halftime lead.
Freshman Lauren Yomantas stopped three shots in goal to pick up her fifth shutout of the season for Hebron (5-5-2).

Hebron 2, Kents Hill 1
HEBRON — Hebron and Kents Hill met twice in the regular season, and each of those two games ended in a tie. Tied again Wednesday at 1-1 after regulation play and two overtime periods, the Lumberjacks topped Kents Hill in dramatic fashion, 2-1 on penalty kicks, in the MAISAD girls’ soccer semifinals.
Hebron opened the first half scoring on a goal by Emma Leavitt in the 12th minute, but Kents Hill tied things up late in the second period on a goal by Shailie Dumont. The last 10 minutes of regulation and overtime went scoreless, setting up the penalty kicks.
. Kicking first, Hebron’s Sarah Markey placed the ball squarely in the net to give the Lumberjacks the early advantage. Chelsea Boucher and Catherine Byrnne also found the net for Hebron. Kents Hill answered with two successful scores, and with a Hebron miss, the margin was 3-2 going into the fifth kick. Hebron senior Emma Leavitt then came through with the game-winner. The Lumberjacks advance to the MAISAD championship game at 1:00pm on Saturday at the Hyde School.
Boys’ soccer
Hebron 3, Hyde 1
HEBRON — Hebron responded with three unanswered goals to topple Hyde with a 3-1 victory in the MAISAD boys’ soccer semifinals.
Vlad Gavrik scored two goals for the Lumberjacks (10-5), and Tavis Gibbons added one of his own. Sang Il Min and Inigo Nieves each earned an assist, and Davis Hart recorded 9 saves in goal. Nic Figueroa scored the lone goal for the Phoenix (5-7). With the victory, Hebron advances to the MAISAD championship game at Kents Hill on Saturday at 1:00pm.
