NORWAY — A meeting of the Alan Day Community Garden will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, at
the Unitarian Universalist Church,
Main Street.
Not too far from Main Street in Norway there is a parcel of land that is being developed into a community garden. Many people have participated in the building and planting of raised beds, a scything workshop and educational presentations about permaculture and gardening.
The mission is to create a community garden to educate people about how they can work together to create an organic sustainable food system that will provide enduring food security for the community in an environmentally conscious manner.
Attendees should bring ideas, enthusiasm and interest as the group will be engaging in a group process and then breaking up into groups to focus on garden design, composting and garden bed building, water catchment, signage and education.
The meeting is open to the public. Healthy snacks
will be provided. For more information, contact Ken at 890-6102 or Seal at [email protected].
