RUMFORD — Eighteen contestants ranging in age from youth to adult competed for the title of Voice of The Valley at Mountain Valley High School on Oct. 24, with Birdie Googins, aka The Marden’s Lady, as emcee. River Valley’s own comedian, Elaine Michaud, also performed.

Winners for the Youth category were: first place, Abby Windover; second place,
Cassie Thibodeau.

Winners for the Teen category were: first place, Kurt Cihak; second place, Kristen Uhde.

Winners for the Adults category were: first place, Jason Lee; second place, T. J. Pinkham.

Each category winner then sang again for the title of Voice Of The Valley. The winner of the Voice Of The Valley trophy was Jason Lee.

Next year’s event is scheduled for Oct. 17, 2010. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
