AMPM, which has opened for New England acts Guster and Ray LaMontagne, can be “…brooding, dark, poppy, introspective, and thoughtful without sounding pompous and self important. AMPM’s debut is all those things and more. The musicianship is immaculate and engaging. Michael Hesslein’s lead vocals seem to ooze with an easy drawl, while channeling a melodic and lyrical sensibility, according to Joel Simches in Noise Magazine. The show starts at 9 p.m. and there is no cover, and for more information call 376-3344 or visit myspace.com/guthriesplace.  On Saturday at 9 p.m., the  local duo Arborea will perform.
