Tom Simmerson
1953 – 2009
GAFFNEY, S.C. — Thomas Horace Simmerson, 56, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 10, 1953, in Detroit, Mich., he was the husband of Anita Cloutier Simmerson, formerly of Lewiston, and the son of the late Horace L. Simmerson and Hattie Beatrice Harris Simmerson. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. He was a self-employed painter, a Mason, an avid musician and was well known for his practical jokes.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are three daughters, Heather Marie Simmerson-Clapp and husband, Aaron, of Easley, Laura Lorraine Simmerson and Amber Noelle Simmerson, both of Gaffney, S.C.; a sister, Gail Simmerson Bruce and husband, Wayne, of McDonnough, Ga.; and a grandchild, Damyen Blake Thompson.
