AUBURN — Sophomore center Tyler Smithgall canned a team-high 20, including 14 in the first half, to lead Central Maine Community College in a 65-55 Yankee Small College Conference victory over New Hampshire Technical Institute on Thursday.
The Mustangs (3-2) held a 33-29 advantage at the break and were led by Matt Sceviour’s 12 points in the second half. Sceviour, who couldn’t buy a basket in the first half, was responsible for 10 straight Mustang points including a pair of treys.
Cam Angell buried three from beyond the arc finishing with 12 points while Nick Hinkley scored five and Arsenio Santamaria complemented a stellar defensive effort with four points. Ahntwaun Harris drained a game-high 24 points for the Lynx (3-4) while Matt Cloutier and Besfort Syla each contributed 12.

Central Maine CC 67, New Hampshire TI 51
AUBURN — Sara Martin torched the nets for a game-high 19 points as Central Maine Community College began their defense of the Yankee Conference title defense with a 67-51 win over New Hampshire Technical Institute on Thursday.
The Mustangs (1-1) opened up a 10-point advantage in the closing minutes of the first half and never looked back. Danielle Hebert was solid on both ends of the floor and finished with 10 points.
Teira Durgin and Kayla Ellis created havoc on the defensive end and each finished with nine points while Christy McAuliffe added eight and Katie Martin seven. Freshman Carrie Hayden was solid off the bench with five points.
Moriah Mahala led the Lynx (1-5) with 12 points Jess Hardiman added 11 and Ashley Harris scored 10.
