This is in response to the Sun Journal article printed Nov. 15 regarding the low-altitude flight training of the Air National Guard and the USAF and the hearing on Nov. 14 in Farmington.

I was a bit disappointed that the article did not make note that there was one other person standing up for the ANG and speaking on behalf of the USAF. That would have been me, as I was the last to speak but noticed that all media and any appointed/elected officials of the state had left prior to the end of the hearing.

My goal was not to address elected state officials or media, but to stand before officials of the nation’s military defense and let them know I am behind their objective 100 percent. I own property that is right under the fly zone, and I will say that my pride and admiration for those pilots far exceed my belief in the state government officials and their vocalized opposition to this much-needed training.
